Are you an aspiring Web designer? Or do you excel at making Web applications? Perhaps the engineering of a Web program isn’t your forte but you know about the architecture of what makes a site user-friendly and applicable to the common Internet browser. Perhaps you know absolutely nothing about web design or development, but you’re a health aficionado with great ideas for a Web app that will help others get proactive to lead a healthy lifestyle.
The Department of Health and Human Services has launched Healthy People 2020, a prize winning challenge to the top three people with the best ideas for an application to get America healthy. Stakeholders, professionals, advocates, funders and decision makers will use the application on mobile devices and computers to help users integrate objectives, resources, the latest health topics, community-based prevention, e-mail updates, blogs, analysis of community, county and state health status comparisons, among other features.
Healthy People 2020 is a national agenda that promotes the health and disease prevention objectives for Americans over a 10-year period. The deadline for submissions is Monday, March 7, 2011. Winners of the application will be featured on the Healthy People 2020 site. Visit Healthy People Challenge for more information about the contest.
