We’ve talked about the many ways Simplified Funding Concepts1 (“SFC”) takes the fear out of self-funding, and now we’d like to highlight how simple it makes group enrollment for producers and their clients.
There are five ways to enroll groups in the SFC health plan. Producers can request paper or fillable PDF versions of their enrollment forms from their IHC sale representatives. They can also access SFC enrollment forms through the following electronic services:
Using this software offers a key advantage: It helps expedite the enrollment process for everyone.
Jeff McCabe, vice president of sales with IHC Specialty Benefits, explains that when using these services, producers tend to receive more complete and readable forms. For example, handwritten enrollment forms sometimes pose legibility problems or are returned incomplete. When someone completes an enrollment form through one of the electronic services listed above, they cannot proceed without answering every question.
“It’s more streamlined for producers,” McCabe says. “They don’t need to chase down the information.”
Employers can load the group’s census information into the software and then notify employees that it is time to log in and complete their enrollment form.
Some producers express concerns over applicants’ computer access. SFC accepts mixed forms for groups, and that means some employees can fill out paper enrollment forms while others apply online.

1The IHC Group provides a program to establish and maintain a self-funded health plan coordinated with stop-loss insurance protection for employers with 10 to 50 enrolled employees.
