Because there has not been a large-scale federal response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, states are working individually to respond to this outbreak. As a result, it’s important to be aware of how your individual state is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in order to protect yourself and your family.

This article contains some basic state-level information and links to resources in your state to stay updated.

States with COVID-19 Special Enrollment Periods

The following states that run their own ACA marketplaces have enacted special enrollment periods due to the COVID-19 pandemic in an effort to make health insurance more accessible so that people will be able to get testing and treatment if they need it.

California: Until June 30, 2020[1]

Colorado: Until April 3, 2020[2]

Connecticut: Until April 2, 2020[3]

District of Columbia: Until June 15, 2020[4]

Maryland: Until April 15, 2020[5]

Massachusetts: Until April 25, 2020[6]
